“Le Forêt de Soignes” or “Het Zoniënwoud” would not be my first place to run to when in need of some fresh air and a nature injection. It’s located in the most dense and traffic struck area of Belgium near and around the capital. But when in short of time and in need of space it was more than I expected. There are hundreds of small trails there that meander through the forest. When you are lucky you don’t see a living soul. But most of the time the forest is kind of crowded since it’s the escape room for the entire capital. That being said, on a sunny fall afternoon with all of fall’s colours in full effect and the sun on a low azimuth it’s just gorgeous. So setting aside me prejudices and letting myself be guided by a friend it was a great experience: 8 kilometres of going up and down between meandering trails and majestic colourful trees.
